Tucked away on the nature reserve island of Moyo, the hotel is a haven for a variety of wild life ranging from deer to wild boar, macaque monkeys and sea eagles.
Rising under the canopy of tropical forest, Amanwana is embraced by an island and defined by the sea that surrounds it. Guests will find only tents, sand pathways and an open air pavilion made for dining and all-day lounging.
Hotel Location:
Amanwana is located on the nature reserve of Moyo Island east of Bali. Fifteen kilometres off the coast of Sumbawa, Moyo is at the western end of the Nusa Tenggara islands, a grouping that begins with Lombok and stretches some 1,300km east to Timor. Bali is the international gateway. It is one of the most accessible destinations in Southeast Asia with daily flights from most major cities in Asia and Australia. Travellers from Europe or the US tend to fly via Singapore or Hong Kong. There are also domestic flights from the surrounding islands and ferry connections.
Hotels Room
The hotel comprises of only 20 luxury tents, under a canopy of a tropical forest. Each 58-square-metre tent is partially enclosed by a solid wall. There is a soft waterproof external roof and a separate canvas interior. A coral-stone deck surrounds each tent. Inside, the air-conditioned tents feature banks of windows, Indonesian island artwork, a sitting area with facing divans, king-size bed, a writing desk and a large bathroom. There is hardwood flooring throughout.
Sand paths link the tents to one another and lead to the beach, the dining room and reception. There are two room categories – Ocean-Front Tent and Jungle Tent. The only difference between the two is whether you prefer to be closer to the ocean or the jungle Tent. Services and Facilities:
Situated within the open air pavilion facing the sea, the dining room and bar are made up of hardwood flooring and solid coconut pillars. A variety of Asian and Western food is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
In season, there are regular al fresco barbecues and campfire dinners. Drinks at the teak top bar are available.
The Music Pavilion is a forest sanctuary like no other. Located at the far end of the hotel, just metres from the shoreline. Guests can listen to music, order picnics, a bottle of wine enjoy afternoon tea or even a sunset cocktail.
The Boardwalk and Dive Centre are for the lovers of sea sports. With a variety of equipment and excellent dive spots within reach of the hotel, there is something for everyone. From windsurfers, kayaks and hobbie cats to snorkel and dive equipment is available.
The Jungle Cove is as close to nature as you can imagine, just back off the beach under the cool shade of tamarind trees. The coral stone walls divide into three treatment areas, each including a soaking bath tub and a shower. Choose from massages, fresh fruit facials and black Borneo body scrubs.
